To collaborate on a 3-piece eyewear collection that aesthetically emulates Sebastian’s sensitivity to material detail and functionality.

We approached to collaborate with Sebastian Herkner Studio as his work shared common attributes to ic! berlin, most prevalent was his attention to craftmanship and the relationship between process and product. Working directly with him and his team we developed a small range of optical and sunglass styles, that used unique manufacturing steps to create frames that were unseen in the eyewear industry. Influenced by his furniture both in colour and texture we curated a bespoke materials library that could be developed by the technicians in Berlin. The styles played with unexpected perspectives, material transparency and balanced forms, something that resonated with Sebastian’s work.

The styles were photographed alongside his furniture pieces to communicate the shared attention to material detailing and colour palettes.
